A calendar is always useful for organizing yourself, including all your tasks, events and meetings. Unfortunately, regular paper calendars are not enough for efficiently displaying the date and using the computer for this is a much better idea. The Windows operating system includes a calendar feature, which can be accessed from the system tray clock, but unfortunately, this features is not powerful enough for most users. Using Desktop Calendar is a much better idea. The name clearly states what the program is all about: it displays a simple calendar on the desktop, also offering the possibility to add various tasks and events to any day of the calendar.

This is a Windows application that can also work as an organizer, allowing the user to add various tasks to the calendar and also setting an alarm for each of them. Thus, the user will be announced regarding future events in time, so he will have enough time to prepare for them.

Desktop Calendar practically includes two interfaces, one for displaying the current date, together with the next five days, and also a Windows widget that displays the calendar for the current month, together with all the added tasks. Speaking about tasks, they can be added by simply clicking on one of the calendar days. After doing this, the user can add any type of information, together with an icon, for making it easier to differentiate a task from another. Tasks can be configured to have an alarm sounding some time before they are due.

The configuration section of the widget allows customizing its color and also the format of the date displayed. Besides that, it can be set to start together with Windows. Furthermore, all the tasks can be imported from various applications, using CSV file and can also be exported using the same file type.

Pros

It can add two different calendars to the desktop, the default one and a Windows widget. Besides that, the widget allows adding an unlimited number of tasks and events to it, each having its own icon. Furthermore, the list of tasks can be imported and exported using CSV file. What's more, the color of the calendar widget can be changed and it can also be set to start together with Windows.

Cons

The trial version doesn't allow importing and exporting all the tasks to CSV files. Furthermore, the widget cannot work with older versions of Windows. Desktop Calendar is a calendar tool that allows adding various tasks to a desktop calendar and organizing them better than ever.
